The measurement of electromagnetic rotating ball viscometer is to observe the viscosity of a liquid by rotating a sphere driven by electromagnetic interaction. Two magnets are connected to the rotor to establish a rotating magnetic field. The sample is placed in a measuring tube with a sphere inside. The test tube is placed in a temperature control room, and the sphere is located at the center of two magnets. The rotating magnetic field induces the formation of eddy currents in the sphere. The generated Lorentz force generates torque between the magnetic field and eddy currents, thereby rotating the sphere. The rotational speed of a sphere depends on the rotational speed and magnitude of the magnetic field, as well as the viscosity of the sample surrounding the sphere. The movement of the sphere is monitored by a video surveillance camera.
